Doug Dearth


Doug Dearth has been an actor for many years, working with noted directors Steven Frears, Bruce Beresford, Clint Eastwood and Harold Ramis. In 1993 Doug moved from Canton, Ohio to Los Angeles, where he began his acting career with a first screen appearance in the film “Money For Nothing”. This film had an amazing cast of seasoned actors, plus the ‘new guys’ James Gandolfini and Michael Rapaport.

Doug began working behind the camera in 1997, where he applied his passion for music working with John Cusack’s New Crime Productions on the music selections for “Grosse Pointe Blank”. Doug went on to work as the Music Coordinator on the hit feature “High Fidelity”.

Doug’s producing career started in 1999 as Associate Producer on “The Jack Bull”, an HBO movie of the week. Recently Doug again teamed up with New Crime Productions to work as both Associate Producer and Music Supervisor on the feature “Grace Is Gone”, and then Co- Producer and Second Unit Director on the feature “War Inc.”, directing great actors like John Cusack, Ben Kingsley, Dan Ackroyd and Marissa Tomei. “Grace is Gone” premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award: Dramatic and the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award. It was then picked up for distribution by The Weinstein Company.

In 2009 Doug directed and produced the award winning documentary, “9000 Needles” which was picked up for distribution and released in the fall of 2011. Shortly thereafter, he produced “Under The Knife Abroad” a one-hour documentary for the critically acclaimed Vanguard Documentary Series on Current TV. And is also in post-production on the documentary “Inspired To Ride”.

In the summer of 2012, Doug will direct the feature film “Underdogs”, which will be shot on location in Canton, Ohio. He is also slated to direct the feature film “Three Dog Night”, a film of which he also serves as co-writer. It will be shot in Australia in the fall of 2012.

Doug has most recently teamed up with Fallout Entertainment, where he serves as director and producer on a variety of projects ranging from new
